Blue Hors Zack removed from stud service

Last month Blue Hors Stud removed Blue Hors Zack (by Rousseau) from stud service when he and his rider Nanna Skodborg Merrald were included in the Danish Olympic squad. The pair met the qualification requirements for the Tokyo Olympics. The Danish stud is now using Blue Hors Don Olymbrio (by Jazz) and Veneziano (by Vivaldi) for breeding as replacements for Zack. Both stallions will not be seen in the ring for the time being.

Agnete Kirk Thinggaard (DEN) had taken over the reins of the Blue Hors stallions Don Olymbrio and Veneziano from Daniel Bachmann Andersen (DEN) when he left the Danish stud. In January last year she left for Wellington (USA) to train and compete with the horses under Lars Petersen. The rider competed both stallions only once in the international Grand Prix at the Global Dressage Festival. Shortly after the competition Don Olymbrio went back to Denmark.

Both Don Olymbrio and Veneziano have not been in competition since and will not be ridden again for some time. On the website of Blue Hors it says that the stallions replace Zack. “With several approved sons, award-winning daughters and long list of impressive own achievements, Blue Hors Don Olymbrio and Blue Hors Veneziano have proven their worth as both sport and breeding stallions throughout Europe.” Speaking to Eurodressage, the stud said that it was not ruled out that the stallions would return to the sport.
