Bundeschampionate in 2021 will take place from 11 to 15 August

The Bundeschampionate in Warendorf (GER) had to be held in a new format this year. The best young German horses were presented in Warendorf from 26 August to 6 September. The event was spread over two weeks and took place under strict hygiene requirements and without an audience.
The German Federation FN has announced that the Bundeschampionate in 2021 will not take place in September as usual, but from 11 to 15 August. “The early date is mainly due to the European championships taking place this year at home. The last weekend of August did not fit because of the world championships for young dressage horses, a later date could not fit because of the world championships for young jumping horse’s” says Bundeschampionate director Markus Scharmann.
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming many more spectators to Warendorf,” Scharmann said. The earlier date is only for next year. There was also the question of whether the Bundeschampionat would be spread over two weeks again. However, this idea was again rejected for reasons of time and costs. “After all, it is also special that horses from all disciplines come together here,” said Scharmann.
