The Schelstraete family, in the Netherlands, has sold Burberry (Lord Loxley x Kelvin). The mare was formerly successful under para rider Demi Vermeulen, including at the Olympic Games in Rio (BRA). Then Amber Schelstraete continued that success in the Childrens division. The KWPN mare, bred by Bob Tenwolde (NED), will continue her career under the Italian para rider Erica Barozzi.
Under the saddle of Demi Vermeulen, Burberry achieved her first international successes. At their international debut in Doha (QAT) in 2016 they achieved two victories in Grade II. After that, they achieved great results in Deauville (FRA), Mannheim (GER) and Roosendaal (NED). Later that year the combination was allowed to go to the Paralympic Games in Rio (BRA). There they won team bronze and silver in the individual class. Rio was the pair’s last international competition. In the spring of 2018 Burberry came to the Schelstraete family and shortly after that the international debut under daughter Amber in the Childrens division followed. This combination had two successful years including a double victory at CDI Le Mans (FRA). At the last international competition last February in Lier (BEL) they improved their personal record with 72,500% in the qualifying test, 73,116% in the Nations Cup and 71,358% in the individual test. Recently the 14-year-old pony made his debut under Micky Schelstraete in the Junior division. They completed that debut with a mark of almost 68%.
