Czech horse owner Petr Kellner died in a helicopter crash

The 56-year-old Czech jumper owner Petr Kellner died the day before yesterday in a helicopter crash in Alaska (USA). According to Reuters the helicopter crashed on a glacier near Anchorage from as yet unexplained causes. Four occupants and the pilot did not survive the crash. One survivor was critically injured and remains in hospital. The occupants had been skiing and were returning by helicopter. Kellner bought the top horse Catch me if you can (by Catoki) from Paul Schockemöhle in November 2018. His daughter Anna Kellnerová took over the reins from Laura Klaphake (GER). The German rider rode five successful seasons with the Catoki daughter. The duo took part in the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2017, followed by a successful summer season. The combination won the nations cup in Aachen (GER) with the German team a year later. The pair also contributed to the bronze team medal at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon (USA).
