His performance at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington has moved Daniel Deusser (GER) up to second place in the FEI world rankings. Not only the Corona virus, but also the outbreak of the EHV-1 virus has affected the competitions considerably. There are few competitions riders can still go to. Germany’s Daniel Deusser is one of the riders who left for Wellington recently, to compete in the Winter Equestrian Festival. H
e arrived here before the chaos broke out in Europe and all the competitions there were halted. His participation in America paid off, as a result of which the rider is now number two in the world. In Wellington, Deusser won the Rolex Grand Prix, among other things. There is as much as $500,000 to be earned throughout the series. After his string of successes in America, the rider is very close to leading Swiss rider Steve Guerdat. Deusser now has 3602 points, Guerdat has only 25 points more and stands at 3627. Guerdat’s compatriot Martin Fuchs is in third place with 3433 points.
