Diamanthina van’t Ruytershof (Diamant de Semilly x Carthago), Emerald van’t Ruytershof’s full sister, is undoubtedly the Queen of the Fences 2020 sales! After a top price of 94,000 euros was set for the filly Utrella Van de Helle in early October, it was an embryo out of the black BWP mare, by the Schockemoehle Stable’s stallion, Chacfly (Chacco Blue), which set a new record at the Fences Web sale, going for 61,000 euros for a “filly” sexed embryo acquired by a consortium of 4 important French breeding farms that pooled their resources for the occasion.
In what was at first thought to be a doubly unfavorable context with the health crisis and the tripling of the supply of auctioned embryos over the last 12 months, Fences offered 26 embryos instead of 12 in 2020. 12 found buyers instead of 8 in 2019, for an average price of 16,625 euros, lower than the 23,062 euros in 2019, but still a very satisfactory number. This figure does not consider the probable private sales that will arise from the sale. 9 of the 11 broodmares offered found buyers, compared to 7 out of 19 last year, at an average price of 10,500 euros, up 24%.
The sales season on Fences Web is not over yet, as three very interesting stallion service sales are scheduled: the Élevage des Blés sale on November 16, 2020; the dispersal sale of the Haras des Adélis on November 17, 2020; and finally, the Élevage de Rima sale on November 30, 2020. 2021 will begin with the 3-year-old stallions finalist’s sale from the Selle Franҫais Championship in Saint-Lô during February.
