Dr. Wilfried Bechtolsheimer died Wednesday 8 April at the age of 71. The originally German trained many top riders, including Carl Hester and daughter Laura Tomlinson-Bechtolsheimer. He leaves behind his wife Ursula, children and grandchildren. “It is with great pain that we say goodbye to our husband, father, grandfather, trainer, mentor and friend,” reports Grand Prix amazone Laura Tomlinson-Bechtolsheimer. “His great passion for equestrian sports and his special love for the people and horses around him were at the heart of his existence. He will forever inspire us.” On April 11, his funeral, in private, takes place in Switzerland.
