Isabell Werth wins Grand Prix debut with Belantis
After an absence of almost a year, Isabell Werth (GER) and the grey Belantis appeared in the ring again. Their mark of 75,467 secured them the victory in the Grand Prix at Reutlingen (GER). The son of Benneton Dream started his sporting career as the Neustadt/Dosse champion stallion, and the pair’s Grand Prix debut had been scheduled for June, but right before their start in Essen the grey gelding cast a shoe. Belantis has been in Werth’s stable since 2013, where he was first ridden by Beatrice Buchwald. In addition to the win, Werth also took second aboard the 12-year-old Den Haag (by Diamond Hit) on a mark of 72,667.
