Jos Verlooy Belgian rider of the year

Due to the Corona measures, the Equigala in Brussels (BEL) could not take place and the equestrian trophies were awarded digitally.
Jos Verlooy was elected Rider of the Year by a wide margin. He got 2,932 points behind his name and beat Niels Bruynseels and Pieter Devos, who collected 2,403 and 2,360 points respectively.
“To come out as the most solid rider in a jumping country as strong as Belgium is quite an achievement and a huge motivation to do even better this year,” Verlooy referring of course to the Tokyo Olympics, where he is a medal contender with horse power such as Igor.
At the 2019 European championships in Rotterdam (NED), the 25-year-old Verlooy took gold with the Belgian team and individual bronze.
