Eric Lamaze has found a new talent in Cartoon Tame (Conrad de Hus x Quadam de Revel). The Canadian started the eight year old gelding in Opglabbeek (BEL) last week. Breeder Denis Brohier is very enthusiastic that the Selle Français-bred gelding is in Lamaze’s stable. Cartoon finished fifth in the championship in Fontainebleau at the age of four and also had a successful year at the age of five. At the age of six, Christian Hermon took over the reins and the stallion was gelded. “Once gelded, we did not have the same horse. He jumped disappointingly at the beginning of the season and even though he made progress, he did not perform like before,” says breeder Denis Brohier to Stud for Life. Brohier decided to sell Cartoon at the end of that year. “The next year he came under the saddle of Jeroen Zwartjes, but he was sold again and then I lost track of him.” At one point the gelding came back in sight. Claire KcKean rode him in Wellington and Eric Lamaze spotted the horse. “He says it is a small star. We hope they have a fantastic career together and it is fantastic advertising for us with another ‘Tame’ at the highest level,” Brohier said.
