Sweden is losing its dressage team anchor

Sweden is losing its dressage team anchor, Patrik Kittel. His mare  (by Fürstentraum) took a misstep during a training session in Tokyo and injured herself. So the pair are out of the Games. Any big championship always comes with dramatic developments, crazy things, big and small accidents. Now it is hitting Sweden. For Sweden’s front man Patrik Kittel, who scored 76,196 in his last GPS (Le Mans) with Well Done de la Roche, the Games are over before they even started. Kittel announced the news on his Instagram. “As I am broken to the core, Welly (Well Done de la Roche, ed.) will always come first. I will now support my students and my team friends in the honour of representing Sweden.” So Sweden now has to rely on its reserve combination in the nations cup: Antonia Ramel with Brother de Jeu. Also on the team are Juliette Ramel with Buriel KH and Therese Nilshagen with Dante Weltino OLD. Sweden is now seeing its medal chances shrinking.
