Olivier Robert (FRA) has announced that Tempo de Paban (by Jarnac) will retire at the age of 14. Robert competed the chestnut at the highest level in the sport. In December 2019, the gelding was injured due to footing problems at the GCT final in Prague. The horse tore a ligament in his leg at the GCT final in Prague on landing. After a period of rehabilitation in a clinic in the Netherlands, Tempo de Paban appeared again in the ring in October 2020 in a 1.40m class.
The French jumping rider wrote on Facebook. “With Tempo de Paban I had high ambitions, but I cannot take unnecessary risks of him suffering a new injury. He is in top form and is enjoying a well-deserved retirement in the field together with Quenelle du Py.”
At the age of four, Tempo de Paban came under the saddle of French rider Marie Demonte. At that age, the gelding already attracted the attention of Robert, who completed his training and took him to the top of the sport. In 2017, Kevin Staut took over the reins of the gelding in July and August.
