From the 22nd till the 25th of April there will be a new international dressage competition on the calendar at the completely renovated equestrian centre Dutch Equestrian Estate in Schaijk. With the new CDI Schaijk the demand for an international outdoor dressage competition in the Netherlands is met.
This new initiative is an idea of Thomas and Sanne van Heel, owners of the venue. The CDI Schaijk will be a high level competition with CDI3* Big Tour and Small Tour competitions and competitions for U25, Young Riders, Juniors, ponies and Children. The organising committee will be led by Fenna Roefs and Koen Gomes. “As RFS Events, we are delighted to take over the organisation,” says Roefs. “Thomas and Sanne are of course well known in the world of jumping and eventing, but have asked me if I would organise the dressage competitions at the Dutch Equestrian Estate. This is how the organisation for the CDI came to be. I have approached Koen if he could support me in this, and we will take on the organisation of the event together. We complement each other very well; Koen will focus on the technical part and I will be more involved in the commerce and the interpretation of the event. We are a young and dynamic team with a clear vision. “
Gomes is also looking forward to CDI3* Schaijk 2021. “It is fantastic to have a new international competition in the Netherlands,” he adds. “After the cancellation of the show in Nieuw- en Sint Joosland, the demand was high and we are filling that void. I am proud to be part of this and we will do everything we can to make this a great event. The organisation is already in full swing and we hope to welcome everyone in Schaijk next year,” said Gomes.
CDI Schaijk goes hand in hand with the international jumping competition ‘CSI Dutch Equestrian Estate’ the week before (14-18 April 2021) and the international eventing competition ‘CCI Dutch Open Eventing’ (29 April -2 May 2021), the week after the CDI. There will also be a CDI on the calendar later in 2021. This competition will be held from 23 to 26 September. In between, two subtop competitions will be organised in May and July. Again, the organisation will be in the hands of Roefs and Gomes.
