The impressive stallion Heartbreaker (Nimmerdor x Silvano) passed away at the age of 32, reports Team Nijhof. In his younger years Heartbreaker was known as a successful jumper at Grand Prix level. In 2009 he received the predicate ‘preferent’ because of the great mark he left on breeding world. The stallion has already produced many successful offspring.
From foal, the stallion has been the property of Henk Nijhof. He immediately saw potential in the three-month-old stallion. During his jumping career he finished, among other things, fourth at the world championships for 7-year-old jumpers (1996). He also placed third at the Grand Prix of Geesteren, Hamburg and Falsterbo in 1998 and won the Championat of Hamburg.
In 2016, Heartbreaker was still voted horse of the year. He showed at the inspection as a 3-year-old, even though he had by then reached the extraordinary age of 27. Allen’s Romanov II, Cidane, Zambesi, Actionbeaker and grandchildren Admara and Hello Sanctos, are just a few examples of the successful progeny of the successful KWPN stallion.
“The top sire, who was owned by our family since 1989, is one of the main pillars of the company,” writes Team Nijhof. “In 1997 we started our stud in Geesteren, and then Heartbreaker was the first stallion at our station 24 years ago. He has a special place in our hearts. Many thanks to Silvia Evers who in recent years cared for this breeding ambassador with her heart and soul. Heartbreaker, thank you for everything and for all those beautiful gifts you gave to the world of breeding.”
