Top horse Goerklintgaards Dublet will retire

American dressage rider Kasey Perry-Glass will retire her top horse Goerklintgaards Dublet (by Diamond Hit). The plan was to end the 17-year-old gelding’s sporting career in Tokyo, but was unable to do so due to the Games being rescheduled. Kasey stated on her Facbook: “When I look back on our adventure, I see more than the achievements he has made. I see a horse who wanted to do you a favour and did his best in everything he did. I owe him the best pension a horse could wish for! I’ve come to the conclusion that another year of top-level performance is not the best for him. Representing the US has been one of the most honourable moments of our collaboration. We have never taken it for granted and have done it with pride.”
