Michael Jung has announced that his top mare fischerRocana (Ituango xx x Carismo) will be retired from the sport and used for breeding. Jung competed the mare at a number of smaller competitions last year and was hoping for a go-around in 2021, but due to the lack of major competitions, the German rider has decided that enough is enough. “She doesn’t need to prove herself anymore.” The career of Jung and fischerRocana began in 2011, and includes gold at the world championships for young eventing horses. At CCI1* and CCI2* level the combination won in Radolfzell, Marbach, Altensteig and Varsseveld. Success also continued at CCI3* and CCI4* level with two wins in Lexington and victory in Pratoni del Vivaro. Their biggest success was individual silver at the 2014 European championships in Strzegom (POL).
